Dry Heat Comedy Stars Nate Bargatze and many more Fri., 7/17

PHOENIX, AZ – Join celebrities and a big cast of funny people when Michael Finney presents the Dry Heat Classic Comedy All-Star Show featuring Comedy Central’s Nate Bargatze and many more at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17 at the historic Celebrity Theatre. Proceeds benefit Hope for The Warriors, Gift of Life Arizona, Inc., and Arizona Spinal Cord Injury, a chapter of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Association.

Making all things funnier are the evening’s hosts multi-award-winning comedy magician Michael Finney and “The Spouse Whisper” comedian Mark Cordes. These ha-ha veterans are pleased to welcome fellow comedian Nate Bargatze, who just had his first one hour special Full Time Magic air on Comedy Central. He has had eight late night appearances one of which as one of the first comedians to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His father is the world class magician Stephen Bargatze, who is also on the evening’s bill. Other talents enlisted to bring on the laughs are Bruce Baum who played himself on The Simpsons, Hollywood Squares plus he enjoyed a 2-year run on ABC-TV’s America’s Funniest People. Comedian Kevin Jordan joins the troupe, Kevin has performed over 100 USO shows for every branch of the military worldwide. Keeping the laughs going is international comedian Bob Kubota whose appearances include Comedy Central, Evening at the Improv, MTV, A&E, Comedy Cure, Standup Spotlight and more. The entertainment-packed lineup continues with comedian Jim O’Brien who spent four years on The George Lopez Show and played “Officer Smitty” on Days of Our Lives; the versatile singing comedy impressionist Scott Record; master impressionist Rick Michel (Baywatch, Larry King, America’s Funniest People, Bob Hope’s Gold Classic); from 2012’s top 100 America’s Got Talent tribute artist Randall Hedden; comedy magician Fielding West who has worked with Liza Minelli, Phylis Diller and appeared with Smothers Brothers; actor comedian Scott Henry; and Phoenix’s own Tony Vicich heard mornings on WOW 99.1 FM.

Celebrity sightings will be in full force with such distinguished guests as NFL Hall of Famer Ted Hendricks, MLB Hall of Famer Phil Niekro, retired NFL player Lincoln Kennedy, actors Burton Gilliam and Marc McClure, Iron Chef America participant Executive Sous Chef at the Phoenician Resort Lee Hillson, Iron Chef America winner and Executive Chef at the Sanctuary on Camelback Mt. Beau MacMillan, award winning Kentucky Derby photographer Bill Straus, and magician-impressionist Brad Zinn.
